Parent Partnership

Parent Partnership is a joint effort between parents and the staff of Scandia Elementary School.  Through informal meetings, parents will have the opportunity to meet with the Principal and discuss concerns or issues that will continue to improve our school.  The primary goal of the Parent Partnership is to improve student success and academic achievement.  Another goal is to provide support to parents in helping their children to succeed at school.  Each meeting will have a primary theme (e.g. parent involvement) which will guide us in affecting change at Scandia Elementary School. Partnership parents find new ways to be involved in activities that interest them.  We also learn how to read California ’s report cards, prepare for parent/ teacher conference, questions about transitions, etc. Almost anything that does not affect a student’s confidentiality can be discussed.  Personal and confidential concerns are more appropriate in private.

Why Should I Participate in the Parent Partnership?
Family and community involvement is an essential component of a successful school program - along with curriculum, instruction, assessment, and other aspects of school life.  Good communication and relationships among schools, families, and communities help to maximize students' chances of success.

The Parent Partnership may take any direction that you, as parents, would like to see.  We are open to any and all possible meeting topics.  Come and join us for a cup of coffee or tea and discuss topics that may be of interest to you.

Dates:  Every other Wednesday from 8:45-9:15 am
In the event of an emergency or the principal is needed immediately, the meeting will be cancelled.  Always check in at the office!  Thanks!
